About the Workshop
This workshop is intended for professional staff, volunteers and students who wish to improve the performance of a board of directors for a non-profit arts or heritage organization. It is open to those currently serving on a board, individuals who staff a board of directors, and those who wish to prepare for board service. Participants will review the typical duties of a board and discuss variations from working boards to policy setting boards. As a group we will review how to attract new board members, provide training for them and what standards can be set for board performance. There will be substantial time for group interaction, questions and answers with the instructor

About the Instructor
Patricia Cosgrove holds a Bachelor of Art History and a Master of Art in Museum Administration both from the University of Washington. She has worked in the field of museums continuously since 1980. For the last twenty+ years has served as Director of the White River Valley Museum and the Mary Olson Farm. She belongs to Auburn Rotary and serves on the Board of 4Culture.

Class minimum 5/ maximum 25.
