YOUTH AND FAMILY EDUCATION
Hands-on exploration is a source of delight and wonder for children and adults alike. The Museum offers a variety of tours, programs, classes, and demonstrations themed around both our permanent and temporary exhibits to encourage inquiry and discovery.

Local weavers will demonstrate both the twill and twine techniques of Coast Salish Weaving. Free with regular Museum admission.

Family Day - Salish Weaving
Join us for this hands-on adventure for the whole family. Try your hand at weaving on a Coast Salish loom, weave a greeting card for friends and family, attempt to identify raw weaving materials and have you photo taken in a woven blanket. Don’t miss the fun! Free with regular Museum admission.

Hooked on History
Free for everyone and no registration is needed!

The White River Valley Museum is excited to present another season of Hooked on History, a free summer program occurring Wednesdays from 10:30 – 11:30 am, before the Kids’ Summer Sounds concerts in the park. Come join us as we explore a new theme each week, discovering the Museum’s collections with special guests, stories, games, music and crafts! Books Bring History Alive

Free for everyone and no registration is needed.

Books Bring History Alive is a fun summer program occurring Fridays from 11:30 to 12 noon, catering to children aged 2 to 5. Each week a new book is selected and read aloud in the galleries, followed by a simple, complimentary craft project.

Junior Curator’s Summer Camp
Kids ages 7 – 12

If you love collecting stuff and investigating history, then the Junior Curator’s Summer Camp is the place to be this summer! Each day participants will explore the Museum’s collections with hands-on artifact investigation, art projects using recycled photographs, research into mysterious objects, conservation experiments, games and more. TOURS
Tour programs are available for preschool groups, home-schooled groups, church groups, birthday parties, Boy and Girl Scout groups, and many more. Whether your group is researching Native American lore, genealogy, American culture and heritage, or railroading we can be of service!
