WHITE RIVER VALLEY MUSEUM AWARDED TWO GRANTS, NETS OVER $36,000 IN FUNDING
The White River Valley Museum is pleased to announce the award of two recent grants to assist in the restoration of the historic Mary Olson Farm. 4 Culture, the non-profit arm of King Countys Cultural Development Authority ranked the Museums Heritage Cultural Facilities proposal the highest of all applications, awarding it the largest grant of $35,000. These funds will be used to rebuild the 1902 farmhouse porch and restore its beautiful wood frame windows.
The Beardsley Family Foundation made their second grant to the Mary Olson Farm. This $1,500 award will support architectural design for restoration of several of the farms outbuildings. With these funds BOLA Architecture & Planning will document the smokehouse, chicken coop and yard, rabbit hutches, and design solutions to repair and restore them.
