Photographic Reproduction Policy & Fees   Photographs purchased from the White River Valley Museum are to be used once only, as specified in the order form. No further rights are extended with the sale. If the print is used in publication, we ask for the return of the print purchased. Credit must be given adjacent to every photograph displayed or published. Please credit the White River Valley Museum and the image number.   The White River Valley Museum handles all photographic reproduction. Non-commercial motion picture or public service news teams are the only exception to this policy, and may film or videotape photographs from our files at the archives. Neither existing file prints nor negatives are loaned to patrons, and any new copy negatives made are retained by the museum.   Many historic photographs exist in the White River Valley Museum’s archives without negatives. Should you need to reproduce one of these images, an additional fee for producing a copy negative will be charged and the negative will remain in the possession of the museum.   The United States copyright law authorizes libraries and archives to furnish photocopies and reproduction of copyrighted material only under certain specified conditions. Such copies may not be used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research. If a user requests or later uses a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of that order would involve violations of this law.
