Meet the salmon of Olson Stream and learn how important these amazing fish are to our ecosystem and culture. Pre and post in class visits and bus subsidies are also available! The FREE on-site fieldtrip includes five interactive stations:

  • Salmon & Stream Observation

  • Water Quality Testing

  • Watershed Health & Composting

  • Native Plants

  • Native Storytelling & Fishing Practices

Details:

  • Stations will be led by trained naturalists from the Environmental Science Center, Museum staff, and cultural educators from the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe.

  • The on-site fieldtrip is 2 hours and in class visits are 1 – 1.5 hours.

  • You will be contacted after you book your on-site fieldtrip date to schedule you pre and post in class visits.

  • Bus subsides are available on a first come, first served basis.

This program was designed in partnership with the Environmental Science Center, the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe, and the King Conservation District to align with Next Generation Science Standards and Washington State’s Since Time Immemorial Curriculum.
