WRVM Collection, XX.462

Corset, c. 1900

Choosing to not wear a corset in 1900 would be like choosing to not wear a bra under a thin shirt today - you wouldn’t be arrested for public indecency, but everyone could tell you weren’t wearing one. It was considered somewhat scandalous and borderline inappropriate for many public spaces.
